In this carefully crafted film biography, true Canadian screen icon Gordon Pinsent takes viewers on an emotional journey through his illustrious 70-year career. Since it comes right from the man himself, this is the accurate story behind his early years and the life he shared with his wife “Charm” (Charmion King) who died in 2007. He tells the story of how they met, how they fell in love, and how she helped him reconcile his past. Born in 1930 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, no production about the famous actor, screenwriter, artist and author could be made without some of the scenes being shot in his beloved home province and this touching documentary includes many. His voice and work as a narrator (The Old Man and the Sea) is highlighted in some of the most beautiful passages of this film as Pinsent recites from works by Keats, Shakespeare, and Lewis Carroll. |
