Robert Cuffley began studying film through night courses at the University of Calgary and graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Film Studies program. He then went on to take part in the National Screen Institute’s Drama Prize program as well as the NSI’s Director’s Studio. His first feature film, Turning Paige, was nominated for four Genie Awards. It won the Best Emerging Western Canadian Director and the Best Canadian Screenplay Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and the Alberta Film and Television Award for Best Director.
