Shawn Roberts

Although Shawn Roberts is a natural athlete, he had never done any stunts in his career. For Going the Distance he learned to surf and then for one scene, surfed on top of a moving Winnebago. He got his start when he was playing the wolf in a school production of Little Red Riding Hood, and the father of one of his friends, a scriptwriter, was so taken with his performance that he helped Shawn arrange an audition for Emily of New Moon. Shot in Prince Edward Island, the series didn’t air until 1998 and Roberts was deluged with offers. In 1999, he played Peter in the TV movie Sea People, starring Hume Cronyn, and he made his feature film debut as Daniel in Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang. But it was his role as Cody in the 2000 blockbuster, X-Men that launched his career into the big time. Roles in Get Over It (2001) starring Kirsten Dunst and The House on Turk Street (2002) starring Samuel L. Jackson, were followed by a regular role on the hit TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
