This is a movie about grifters. If you missed the 1990 film The Grifters and you’re not sure about the meaning of the word, a grifter is essentially anyone who makes a living as a swindler. It`s like a job, but it`s more like a lifestyle. Seven Times Lucky is a crime-caper film that marks the feature debut of director Gary Yates. It stars comedian Kevin Pollak who plays Harlan, a low-rent con man living off the fruits of his small-time scams. However, Harlan finds his life becoming a turmoil when a young student by the name of Fiona enters the picture. Suddenly, there is the chance for both a big score and true love all tangled in a web of deceit and double-crosses. The film received excellent press when it screened as part of the World Cinema program at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival.
