Howard Leslie Shore is one of the very few Canadian musicians to come out of the ’60s and ’70s and be able to stay in the music biz. He is often remembered for his time with the rock band Lighthouse. In addition to features and series, he has extensive credits on individual TV shows and is noted for his work on David Cronenberg‘s films. Shore won his second and third Academy Awards for his score for The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and Best Song, Into the West, from the same film. In 2007 he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises. He was guest of honour in October 2016 at the Tenerife International Film Music Festival in Spain.
