Adapted from the book, the movie and the original screenplay by Roger Cantin and Danyèle Patendaude that was directed by André Melançon, Snowtime! is the tale of a bunch of kids who amuse themselves during a winter school break by having a massive snowball fight. Luke and Sophie, both 11 years old, become the leaders of the opposing sides. But what starts out as pure youthful fun and enthusiasm deteriorates into a more serious conflict. Joy is restored when all the children decide to attack the fort rather than each other and happily destroy every last bit of the snow fort. Titled La Guerre des Tuques in French, it was announced in February of 2016 that Snowtime! would receive the Golden Screen Award as the Canadian film with the largest box office returns for the year 2015.
