Kent Staines studied theatre at the University of Alberta then continued his studies at England`s prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. In addition to his work in film and televions, he has appeared in major roles in theatres across Canada. His theatre awards include a 1988 Tyrone Guthrie Award for his work at the Stratford Festival. The following year he won a Tyrone Guthrie Workshop Award for his role in Three Sisters (directed by John Neville), also at Ontario’s Stratford Festival. In addition to writing for the stage, Kent Staines is also a screenwriter, having written for the CBC and CTV.
