Starting out at fifteen in the movie business may seem a little old these days – Anna Paquin was eleven when she won an Oscar for her work in The Piano – but in 1983 Kiefer Sutherland was intent on doing just that. With mother Shirley Douglas, a staple in Canadian acting circles and father Donald Sutherland, it’s amazing he could hold out until the ripe old age of fifteen. A little help from dad landed the younger Sutherland a part in the 1983 film, Max Dugan Returns. He played the role of the accidental President Tom Kirkman in the series Designated Survivor. He starred in the role of legendary Detective Clay Bryce in the 2020 series The Fugitive, which is a remake of the 1963 series that starred David Janssen…or it could be a remake of the 2000 series that starred Tim Daly…or it could be a remake of the 1993 film that starred Harrison Ford. An enduring idea originally created by Roy Huggins. He played the role of Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 2022 series, The First Lady (Gillian Anderson played First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt) and he stars as John Weir in the 2023 series Rabbit Hole. Learn more about Kiefer Sutherland |
