77 minutes – Drama
Festival release date: September 4, 2005 (Venice Film Festival)
Canadian distributor: Mór Distribution

After Amy (Karyn Dwyer) and David (Jefferson Brown) meet in a suburban dive, they make a sort of emotional connection. Their lives, like their genes, were inherited. Amy`s mother (Gloria Slade) is a junkie. David’s father is a workaholic who believes the solution to everything is to get a job. Not too surprisingly, Amy becomes pregnant and the reactions and actions of those around her shape the balance of the movie which deals with such controversial subjects as abortion, suicide and mental illness. It has played at various film festivals since its September 2004 release and was an Official Selection of the 2004 Venice Film Festival. Written, directed and shot by Mark Penney, it was filmed in Brampton, Ontario over ten days and on a budget of less than ten thousand dollars.
