Olivette Thibault got her start in the 1945 film, Fridolinons. In 1937 the immensely popular Gratien Gélinas created the character, Fridolin. He was to be part of a revue series originally titled Le Carrousel de la gaieté and later renamed Le Train de plaisir. One year later, in 1938, the Fridolinons revue was shown at the Monument National Theatre and would continue to be presented there until 1946. She was given a Canadian Film Award for Best Actress for her work in Mon oncle Antoine.
