Trevor Jimenez is a Canadian-born filmmaker living in California. He has worked as a storyboard artist in animation for over 10 years- most notably at Pixar & Henry Selick’s Cinderbiter studios. His student film Key Lime Pie (2007) screened at numerous international festivals including Annecy. Weekends is his first professional film and a personal labor of love he had worked on for over 10 years. It is set in Toronto in the 1980s and follows the story of a young boy shuffling between the homes of his recently divorced parents, mixing surreal dream-like moments with the domestic realities of a broken-up family. In 2018 it won an Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject as well as a Special Jury Award & Audience Award (Short Film) at the Annecy Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 2019 Academy Awards. We list his credits as a Director first. |
