Clement Virgo moved to Canada when he was 11 years old. He developed his considerable skills at the Canadian Film Centre, which was founded by Norman Jewison. He is active in the Toronto film community as a past board member of L.I.F.T. and the Black Film and Video Network. His film Love Come Down won 3 Genie Awards including Best Supporting Actor. He is pictured above in 2014 while workng on the CBC mini-series The Book of Negroes, which was nominated for a 2015 Critics’ Choice TV Award for Best Limited Series, but lost to the HBO production of Olive Kitteridge.
