Rob Wells moved to Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia when he was 8 years old, and eventually moved to the same street where John Paul Tremblay lived. Wells loved to play soccer and by the time he was in high school he was playing with some of the best soccer players in the province. He played on a team that represented Nova Scotia at the Canadian National Championships, going on to win gold for Canada at the International Tournament in New Jersey. Wells also developed his artistic talents at an early age thanks to his grade 9 and 10 English teachers. In high school, he started hanging around with John Paul Tremblay and Mike Clattenburg.
