Born in New York, Nanette Workman grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. She started her career in 1964 in the Broadway musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She moved to Québec in 1966. Regarded by many as the first-lady of Québec`s music scene. She has an enviable track record of solo albums and has provided backing vocals for some of rock`s greatest stars including the Rolling Stones on Let It Bleed and Tatoo You, as well as John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. She has an extensive list of appearances in musicals, but less so in films or on television.
