Brian McKenna is a documentary filmmaker, often filling the roles of Producer, Director and Screenwriter on his projects, many of which deal with Canada’s history during times of war. He is a founding producer of CBC’s Oscar and Emmy award-winning documentary program, the fifth estate, where he worked from 1975-1988. A former parliamentary correspondent for the Montreal Star, he often works with his brother Terence McKenna, also a filmmaker, in particular on the 3-part 1992 series The Valour and the Horror, which contained three episodes titled, A Savage Christmas: The Fall of Hong Kong, Death by Moonlight: Bomber Command and In Desperate Battle: Normandy 1944. |
