Canadian Screen Awards – Postponed

(March 12, 2020 – Toronto, ON) The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has released an updated statement regarding the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards and Canadian Screen Week:
“In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Academy is deeply saddened to announce the cancellation of all Canadian Screen Week activities in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, including the national broadcast gala on Sunday March 29th. Following a thorough review of Canadian Screen Week events and an assessment of the potential risk to our attendees, we feel this is the only responsible decision at this time.
We are committed to the celebration of our Canadian Screen Award nominees and Special Award honourees and will share an update in the coming weeks.”
“En raison de la pandémie COVID-19, l’Académie canadienne du cinéma et de la télévision est profondément attristée d’annoncer l’annulation de toutes les activités prévues à Toronto, Montréal et Vancouver liées à la Semaine du Canada à l’écran, y compris le Gala télédiffusé du dimanche 29 mars. Après une évaluation approfondie des événements de la Semaine du Canada à l’écran et du risque potentiel pour les participants, nous pensons que c’est la seule décision responsable à l’heure actuelle.
