Cynthia Banks holds a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University and graduated with the TV Guide Scholarship and Harry Sedgwick Award. She began her career as a documentary researcher in 1987 at CBC’s the Journal, produced short documentaries and full edition shows before becoming a Producer in the CBC Documentary Unit. She founded Banks Productions Limited in 1995 and produced her first independent documentary and in she began directing, producing and writing full time as President of Banks Productions Limited.
