Dusty Mancinelli is a Toronto-based writer, director and producer. His short films Soap (2009), Pathways (2011) and Broken Heart Syndrome (2012) have premiered at TIFF and screened at festivals across Canada and around the world. His work has also aired on the CBC and Air Canada. In 2013, his spec script for an episode of Dexter was a semi-finalist at the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. In 2014, his feature screenplay Little Kings was shortlisted for the inaugural Blacklist’s Martin Katz Screenwriting Fellowship and was selected to participate in the National Screen Institute’s Features First program. From 2007 until 2011, Mancinelli worked as an assistant to Deepa Mehta. He was the stills photographer and director of the behind the scenes featurette for Mehta’s 2008 film, Heaven on Earth, and her feature film adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel Midnight’s Children. He holds a BFA with Honours in Film Production from York University. We list his credits as a Director first.
