Father Sam Ryan, (American actor Michael Murphy), an aging Roman Catholic Priest living contentedly at a Niagara Falls parish, receives a letter that precipitates a downward spiral from what had been a quiet, complacent life. The letter, from a “Christopher,” forces him to confront an incident that happened 40 years ago when he was a young, charismatic priest, serving a remote, Northern Ontario parish. Christopher was a 14-year-old adolescent, whom Sam mentored. The letter asks Father Sam for the truth: what actually happened all those years ago? Were lines blurred or crossed? What choices were made? Did a sexual encounter take place? Can a moral custodian of the faithful; a dispenser of God’s grace, transcend his own fall? Fall had its World Premiere at the 2014 Vancouver International Film Festival. Trailer and poster courtesy of Mongrel Media |
