In 2006, Maxime Giroux’s film Les Jours won the prize for best short film at the Toronto International Film Festival and in 2007 his film Les Rouges au sol won the award for Best Live Action Short Drama at the 27th Genie Awards. His 2014 film, Félix et Meira premiered at the Toronto Film Festival where it won Best Canadian Feature Film. It was selected to be Canada’s official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category for the 2016 Academy Awards.
