B: 1954 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia

Paul Donovan studied physics at Dalhousie University but his life changed after taking a course in film appreciation. In fact it changed the life of his older brother Michael who also became a producer. Paul Donovan studied filmmaking at the London Film School and when he returned to Canada and to Halifax in 1979, he and his brother founded Salter Street Films.
