(January 22, 2024 – Toronto, ON) When Norman Jewison received the Irving Thalberg Award at the 1999 Oscars®, it capped the Hollywood portion of a career that richly deserved the recognition and acclaim that came with this lifetime achievement award. But his accomplishments were many, and some can be recognized in the titles of his films. Films like In the Heat of the Night, Fiddler on the Roof, Moonstruck and The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! Director, producer, and founder of the Canadian Film Centre, Norman Jewison was 97 when he died in Toronto.
