Katrin Bowen

strongKstrongatrin Bowen was born in England but moved to Linden Alberta at the age of five Although she grew up in a Mennonite community her interests ranged from acting in bmovie kickboxing films in Los Angeles to writing and directing independent films in Vancouver At the Vancouver Video poetry festival her short emSomeoneem won the Audience Choice Award and she was honoured to receive the Vision Award for Best Director for emAlmost Forgot My Bones emwhich also won the Best International Film Award at the Chroma festival in Guadajara Mexico and the Audience Choice award at the Vancouver Video poetry Festival Her 2006 short emSandcastleem won the diversity award from Vancouvers CITYTV Bowen is an Alumnae of the University of California at Berkeley The Cannes Producing Intensive Women in the Directorrsquos Chair and the Berlinale Talent Campus She speaks four languages and lives in Vancouver BC She wrote the story for emAmazon Fallsem her first feature film
