Mort Ransen

Mort Ransen began his career on stage first as an actor and then director after studying with the legendary American teacher Peggy Feury Two of her other students were Anjelica Houston and Sean Penn Ransen has made over 30 films for film and television and taught writing acting and directing in cities across Canada including workshops for the National Film Board of Canada the Canadian Academy of Film and Television and the National Theatre School He is best known for his Genie Awardwinning film emMargarets Museumem which was written directed and produced by this selfproclaimed aging hippy who now lives on trendy Saltspring Island in British Columbia He directed 19 films for the National Film Board before quitting in 1984 to write and direct his first feature iBayoibrbrbr
