Mylia is a timid yet fierce 12-year-old who is about to leave for high school. In search of touchstones in this new environment, which seems hostile to her, she begins to find her bearings after meeting Jacinthe and an aboriginal youth named Jimmy who lives on a neighbouring reserve. As Mylia grows and learns, sometimes awkwardly, she begins to deal with life, high school pressure and family disorganization, often rubbing up against the absurdity of adolescence, her own discomfort and her occasional but vital small victories. |
