Born in Rhode Island Don Carmody moved with his family first to Boston and then when he was 11 years old to Canada and lived in Rosemere a small community north of Montreal He attended Loyola High School and studied art at the Muse des beauxarts When it was time to go to college he asked his teacher at the Muse the well known Quebec artist Charles Gagnon where he might be able to get a degree As it turned out Gagnon had been hired as the first film teacher at Loyola College and they would be offering a degree program Carmody majored in film production and later obtained a law degree at McGill University His first work in film was as a gofer on the Robert Altman film emMcCabe and Mrs Millerem which was shot in British Columbia He is pictured above at the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards holding his 9th award for Top Grossing Canadian Film for the historical feature emPompeiiem which was shot in Toronto These are his credits as a Producer Coproducer or Executive ProducerbrbrIn the spring of 2011 Don Carmody was working on his 100th film Northernstarsca was given an opportunity to interview him about his long and successful career Edited into approximately 10minute segments a hrefhttpwwwnorthernstarscacarmodydonint1click herea to begin watching our 8Part video interview with Don Carmody titled emDon Carmody at 100embrbra hrefhttpwwwdoncarmodycom targetblankOfficial websiteabrbrbr
