Maurice Dean Wint moved to Canada in 1967. His background is an interesting mix of British and Jamaican experience. He came to Canada with his family in 1967 and he started acting on the stage in Toronto after completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama at York University. He was awarded a Dora for Performance in a Featured Role for his work in the 2010 production of Courageous by Michael Healey, which also won the 2010 Dora for Outstanding New Play. He played the role of Austin Diggs on the series Diggstown and plays August Ripley on SurrealEstate.
