Paul Haggis

Paul Haggis is an awardwinning screenwriter producer executive producer director and program creator When he was growing up his parents owned and operated the Gallery Theatre in London Ontario and Haggis cut his teeth in theater production directing and as a playwright in the early 1970s He was the creative force behind programs like iDue South Family Law EZ Streets City iand ithirtysomethingi So far he has picked up a couple of Emmy awards a Golden Globe the TV Critics Association Program of the Year Award Viewers For Quality Television Founders Award the Columbia Mystery Writers Award and six Gemini Awards to name just some of the honours he has received He first tried his hand at feature films in 2002 and has been rewarded for that effort with an Academy Award nomination for his screenplay for iMillion Dollar Babyi The film itself went on to be named Best Picture Completed in 2004 but not released until the following year his film iCrashi was nominated for 6 Academy Awards and was named Best Picture at the 78th annual awards ceremony He also won for Best Original Screenplay iLetters for Iwo Jimai which was cowritten with Iris Yamashita was nominated for an Oscar in 2007 He was the creator of the hit TV series emDue Southem We list his credits as a Screenwriter firstbrbrAlso see a hrefhttpwwwnorthernstarscapaulhaggistalksPaul Haggis Talksabrbrbr
